Free Range

These chickens are allowed access to the outdoors 24/7. In the winter they have a covered area to stay out of the elements, while in the summer they have a pasture to roam free.

Free Run

These chickens roam freely in their barn.

Farm Fresh

All eggs are laid, hand gathered daily, washed, graded, packaged on our farm and then delivered fresh to your store.

Well...the simple answer is, because we are!

We are located in Greendale, on the western border of Chilliwack, the most beautiful place in the world and we might even be your neighbours.

We chose to sell at local grocers who support local farmers because what goes around, comes around!

At the Local ChickInn we strive to meet and exceed the quality standards set out by both the BC Egg Board and the the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. By doing that we directly impact how your eggs reach your table.

From hand gathered to hand packaged we see the egg at multiple steps along the grading process to ensure that only quality enters the carton.

When quality is served, we know that you will be satisfied, because we aren't until you are!

About Us

Why We Started

The reason why we wanted to grade our own eggs is because we saw the demand for farm fresh local eggs. Our eggs come from our own chickens that we raise from one day of age. We daily hand gather the eggs and deliver daily to give you the ultimate farm fresh eggs experience.

When we started to realize our customers wanted to have farm fresh delivered to them we just knew we were onto something big!

We are a small chicken farm, that offers our chickens to freely roam their cozy home indoors or scratch in the dirt outdoors all year round.

Our Small Lot Permit

This is a permit given by the BC Egg Board to people who want up to 399 chickens. This is not quota and anymore than 399 birds, quota is needed. The BC Egg Board inspector comes once a year to check the health of the chickens. They swab for salmonella and e-coli in the barn and check the paperwork to ensure regulations are met.
